Extremely rare WWII German Krim Shield. It was designed in the traditional form of a medieval shield. The top of the shield holds the national eagle of the German Army, looking to the right, with the dates 1941 and 1942 under its wings. Below the eagle the outline of the southern coast of Russia and that of the Crimea peninsula is embossed into the shield with the name "Krim" in its center. the dots within the depiction of the peninsula indicate the locations of the major battles, you can find in "The Awards of the Heer, Volume II", Pag. 90. It doesn't come with the back plate with the paper masking. Steel.
